You may have seen our story about the YogaSlackers’ Peace Love Car (PLC), a colorful 1988 Ford Festiva that has been home and transport to several YogaSlackers for the past 10 years.
It’s one of those natural facts that every life has an end, and Peace Love Car’s on her last legs.
Last year the mechanic gave the car (which has more than 400,000 miles on her odometer) a 12-months prognosis due to rust in the unibody.
To gracefully say goodbye and detach from the car, YogaSlackers Sam Salwei and Raquel Hernandez-Cruz are taking the PLC, their home, office and method of transport, on one last hurrah — a 30,000+ mile tour of North America.
During the ‘PLC: End of the Road Tour’ they will drive to 49 US States (teach at all 50!) and 9 Canadian Provinces to teach at least one slackline, yoga, acroyoga, conditioning for slackers, handstands or other fun classes in each state.
They kicked off the tour on January 1 and will be touring the country at least though October. Check out page two for the End Of The Road Tour schedule.
After the ‘End of the Road Tour’ the PLC will retire.
They have planned the tour around festival commitments (Wanderlust, OR Show with prAna, Red Rocks Randevu, Nantucket Yoga Festival and others).
In each state the Slackers will also undertake an athletic challenge (example: run, cycle, climb, kayak, SUP, packraft, kitesurf, pretty much use every single piece of athletic equipment on hand!) and blog about the experience.
The objectives of their tour are simple: Raise money for a second-generation Peace Love Car and spread the YogaSlackers word and skills.
